No longer MIA...me!

Hey friends, so so sorry that I've been completely out of commission since I've been here...my computer was having major issues and with orientation and trying to figure out this massive city...well I've been keeping busy.

Anyway, a quick update...Buenos Aires is amazing and beautiful. I live in a neighborhood called Belgrano which is farther north from the center of city then most tourists like to travel which is both a blessing and a curse. It's quieter and, obviously less touristy which is great, but it also takes me at least 30 minutes on the bus to get anywhere. Oh well...classes start this week so I'm sure I'll have reading to keep me busy on the commute.

The family that I'm living with is great. I have a mom named Ester, who is so sweet and concerned about my comfort and happiness, a grandmother named Sheesha (and the only way I can tell that my Spanish has improved a little bit is that I can understand Sheesha better now than before) and a 26 year old sister named Camilla. She's quite the character and has some interesting traits to her, but she's really nice and it's great because she tells me fun places to go out and says she is going to take me to a futbol game here (they're apparently really dangerous and you shouldn't go without an Argentine until you get the hang of it.)

I'm working on uploading pics to my comp, so I'll let you know when that's done and...yea! I'll write something more interesting soon I promise, but I just wanted to check in. I hope all is well in Madison or whatever awesome places people are spread out in the world. More to come soon!

T minus 3 days

Well today is Wednesday and I'm leaving on Saturday morning for Argentina. It's been hard saying goodbye to friends and family but reading my guidebooks, and talking to @ers in Buenos Aires have made me get really excited too. I hope all is well in Madison, I miss it and everyone there already. I will be blogging once I get to BA so keep your eyes open. So I'm freaking out about leaving...any advice? Thanks friends!

So this is blogging...

Well, I just got this new blog and I really don't know what I'm doing, but I'm going to try and figure it out, it can't be that hard! I guess it was getting to be time for a new obsession other than the facebook. Katy Hayes made me get a blog (thank you dear) so I can keep in touch with everyone when I'm abroad (at least my awesome @ friends, everyone else will probably just get a mass email). And she promised me that she'd at least read it so that I don't look like a complete idiot.

Anyway, I'm leaving for Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2 weeks...WHOAH. I'm very excited and definitely very nervous. But sitting around in Roseville, MN is getting a little old, so I'm ready to embark on my crazy adventure to the southern hemisphere. Wish me luck...and please read my blog :)
